Church Politics...
I've really got to do better in how I handle church politics.
Personally, the idea that these two words should even be linked together pretty much pisses me off, since the term "politics" has tended to gain such negative connotation over the years.
Sometimes I wonder why I'm in a denomination, and a Presbyterian denomination at that. Presbyterians are famous for politics, committees, bureaucracy, and a host of related terms.
Perhaps God wants to teach me patience.
It's just a sad day when the power of politics holds sway over the power of prayer, when the words of a church constitution holds sway over the Word of God, and decisions are made over accountant's spreadsheets instead of over hands lovingly laid upon the sick, the poor, the bereft, and the unloved.
Anyways, as I said, I've really got to get a better handle on how I do church politics.
Any hints or advice for me?

Wherever there are two or more gathered...there are politics.
ReplyDeleteWish I had some advice, but church politics were the last straw that led to me leaving the ministry. :/
